Office furniture and refurbishment specialist Elm Workspace have continued to develop their sustainability as a business heading into the New Year.
Following the building of a new warehouse mezzanine, the company has recently acquired two new vehicles increasing their delivery fleet size. The Renault vehicles will support the business in its aim to become carbon neutral.
Elm’s Director of Operations, Ian Powell is keen to continue the good work that Elm has instigated in its green policy last year, ‘One of the areas of the business that we specifically keep a tight rein on is the vehicles. Our vans are regularly serviced to ensure efficiency and we change them every 2-3 years, depending of how many miles the vehicles have covered.’
The new vans are equipped with engines that comply with the Euro V regulations and together with the lower more sleek design, Elm have already seen a reduction in their fuel costs. Over the last month the recent acquisitions have seen the business trim their fuel consumption by 10%.
Elm Workspace had a strong finish to 2012 and a busy festive period working with a major international client in Surrey gave the new vehicles the opportunity to clock up some miles. Working across the South West, Home Counties and the capital, the Elm fleet is already set for a busy start to 2013.
