North Leamington School is an 11-18, mixed comprehensive with 1210 students on roll, including 310 in the Sixth Form.
The central aim at North Leamington School is: To create a vibrant learning community, enabling all the students to strive towards achieving their ‘personal best’ and towards becoming positive global citizens of the future.
North Leamington School is a new school built as part of the government’s BSF programme, it replaces a Victorian building in a poor state of repair and all the furniture for this was new.
Part of this project was the main restaurant which had to accommodate 600 students. Due to lunch time being restricted to one hour, a main part of the brief was to plan the layout ensuring a steady flow of students which wouldn’t create any bottle necks and allow easy access to seating. The brief stipulated that the area needed to be multipurpose so this was a major consideration when selecting the new furniture. The installation of the project was time critical, and had to be carried out in the first week of the half term break. We deployed teams in the buildings who delivered, unpacked, installed and removed packaging for recycling.
