This project featured some innovative tendering practices in order to be chosen to complete successful 3 week installation of furniture and fittings at the new offices of ALD Automotive.
What Was Involved?
In the initial stages, six companies were invited to tender for the furniture fit-out of ALD Automotive’s new offices. In order to stand out, we submitted a full and thorough specification, with a conclusive range product documents.
But we didn’t stop there.
After being shortlisted into the final round of tendering, along with one other competitor, we went the extra mile when asked to provide sample furniture items.
How Did The Team Carry This Out?
Instead of simply sending sample items, Elm Workspace constructed three distinct and separate showroom areas to allow the ALD Automotive team to see our proposed items in a mock-up of their final working environment.
Area 1 showed the range of desks, storage units, meeting tables and accompanying chairs, and Area 2 the sofas and soft seating. Whilst Area 3 showcased the high staff benches and stools. This showed ALD Automotive the different work area options that would be open to their staff.
The stands were fully powered and the facilities team on site used the area as their main base.
Our team liaised with the project architect to get the exact wall and floor coverings to be used on the final build, as well as ALD’s marketing department to install appropriate manifestations to glazed wall panels and use of the correct digital wall images.
What Was The Feedback?
Working with the client and their main contractor, Midas Construction, we had to overcome various site challenges. But the installation was a complete success and ALD Automotive are looking forward to working with Elm Workspace in the future. The was down to the quality of the product supplied and the involvement we allowed the client throughout the whole project.
