Raising Money For Headway Brain Injury Charity
Our Commercial Director took his love of cooking to a new level on Saturday night. Back in February he donated a meal for 8 people to an event to raise money for the Headway Brain Injury Charity. This wasn’t just paying for a meal in a restaurant this included Ian going to the winners home preparing and cooking a meal. The focus was very much on local and fresh produce either grown by Ian or at least produce from local sources where possible. A few weeks in advance of the event the host was given a selection of around 20 starters and 20 main courses to choose from three for each course. So, on the night the guests had a choice of starters of Traditional Prawn Cocktail, Home Cured Gravadlax or Homemade Goats Cheese and Red Onion Tart. For Main the selection was Braised Aberdeen Angus Steaks with Madeira, Honey and Soy Sauce, Chicken Breast Stuffed with Herb Infused Mascarpone with a Home grown grape and white wine sauce or Galette of Swede with Portobello Mushrooms and Chestnuts served with a Tomato and Red Wine Sauce. Desserts were Ian’s famous Chocolate Mousse or Tart Tatin then of course the meal rounded off with a selection of Cheeses. Must have gone down well as the hosts decided afterwards to double their original donation!
